Run!

Run Fast!

Run Long!

Run Far!

Whatever you do, just keep on running.

This piece explores the history of blackness in America, likening it to one long race. To acquire success or freedom, many had to run long and hard to reach the finish line. Hurdling over obstacles, passing batons to the future generation, ever so slightly inching near the finish line. Just when the end seemed close, society prolongs the race and pulls the end line a little further.

Despite that, we must continue to run.
